Our Process for Document Review

Here's a step by step overview of how our process works.

STEP 1: REGISTER

Register by completing our Document Review Registration Form.   At this time, you can choose to upload a document for our review, or if your draft is not quite ready, we can talk to you about the process.  If you wish to register for a Brainstorming Session, we will issue you an appointment when we receive your registration form.

STEP 2: UPLOAD DOCUMENT

If you would like us to review a document: Upload the draft of your document so we can provide you with a quote. Please upload any draft documents for review in Word format.  (If you would like to send us an outline first, we can make recommendations (and/or suggest a Brainstorming Session), and then you can subsequently send us your draft document once you have completed writing it).

STEP 3: QUOTE

We provide you with a quote so that you know the cost before we begin.  We will send you a quote link for your approval. Once you approve the quote and make payment, we begin our review.

STEP 4: REVIEW PROCESS

We review your draft document and make recommendations for improvement (generally within 2-3 business days). We will provide you with our written comments, as well as offer to schedule a phone call if you would like to discuss our suggestions in further detail (which can be beneficial to ensure that there are no misunderstandings about the suggestions that we make).

STEP 5: REVISE DOCUMENT

You revise the document based on our suggestions.

STEP 6: COMPLIMENTARY PHONE CALL

We offer you a complimentary phone call to discuss our recommendations with you in further detail. Prior to the scheduled call, we welcome you to upload your revised draft so we can discuss the progress you are making with the document during our phone call.

STEP 7: ADDITIONAL REVIEW (IF REQUIRED)

If a review of your revised draft is recommended, we will provide you with an additional quote. (Depending on the number of changes, a secondary draft review may be complimentary).  Please allow for 2-3 business day turnaround time for the subsequent review completion.

EXAMPLE TIMEFRAME:

If we receive your document for review on Sunday, we will generally deliver the comments back to you by Wednesday. If for some reason your document requires a longer time for review, we will communicate this to you before we begin our review.

TIP:

If the application requires both an essay component and a list of activities (e.g. autobiographical sketch), we recommend drafting the list of activities before approaching your essay(s). The task of reviewing past activities and accomplishments is a good way of starting the writing process and identifying common themes.
