Behavioral Interview

What is a Behavioral Interview?

As the name indicates, behavioral interviews typically pose questions about how you behaved in the past.  This interview format asks probing questions about your background, specifically how you used the skills that are considered the most important for profession.

Example questions:

  • Tell me about a time when you had to handle a difficult situation.
  • Provide an example of how you made goals for yourself and measured success.
  • Describe an experience where you demonstrated leadership.

Your responses reveal your skills, abilities, and personality.  The logic behind this interview is that your behavior in the past reflects and predicts how you will behave in the future.
